2016 Dare to Care Update
The 2016 Dare to Care Offering totaled $24,520.51 and has been distributed equally for the needy children in
the shanty town of Guarari, Costa Rica and for refugees who have fled war-torn Syria. You are to be commended for your compassionate participation. BFC missionary Lillian Solt serves at the House of Health in Costa Rica ministering to the physical and spiritual needs of the needy. Samaritan's Purse will meet the immediate needs of the displaced people arriving on the shores of Greece with food, clothing, and shelter. Your generous giving will go a long way to provide the necessities for these people to thrive and survive.
2015 Dare to Care
The entire offering totaled $16,685.85 went to the Costa Rican CEDCAS ministry under the leadership of BFC missionary, Lillian Solt. CEDCAS ministers to the whole person, spiritually, physically, relationally, practically...and we're privileged to share in their work.

A "Dare to Care" Question:
What ever happened to Philip Osenya?
For years we gave the lion's share of our "Dare to Care" offering to Pastor Philip Osenya and his "Heart to Care Foundation" in Kenya. His work with the care and education of children orphaned by the devastation of HIV has always been close to Calvary's heart. In fact, on two different occasions Pastor Shorb and a team from Calvary travelled to Africa to minister beside Pastor Osenya. But in 2014, none of our "Dare to Care" offering will go this precious ministry. How can it be??
Here's our joyful answer:
While the "Dare to Care" offering will go to Rwanda and Costa Rica, the 2014 budget approved by the congregation last January includes $15,000 dollars that goes directly to Pastor Osenya and the Heart to Care Foundation in Kenya. We are more committed than ever to supporting this special work; so much so that we've committed a significant portion of the annual budget to that need. Reality is, the amount being sent to Heart to Care is more than what normally would go to them through the Dare to Care offering. Plus, budgeting this amount will allow us to distribute significant amounts of the "Dare to Care" offering to two other areas of the world in great need. Thank you for asking. Thank you for caring enough for Pastor Osenya to be sure that we continue to support him, even more generously, as a church family. Remember Heart to Care in your prayers and we'll give an update on Pastor Osenya's work in an upcoming Connection.
