More than 40 young adults meet on Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM to study the Bible and enjoy fellowship at the Fairmount Building, corner of Fairmount and Main street in Coopersburg. Addictions take on many faces. From "just one more drink" to the easy access of the internet...habits are hard to break, even for Christians. Overcomers Outreach meets every Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in Room 104. Overcomer's Outreach provides biblical teaching, prayer support, and accountability in a discreet atmosphere for those on the path to overcoming these challenges.

Trip to Landis Valley Museum, the largest "living history" village in the country dedicated to the total preservation of early PA German life. Lunch will be at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Cost for Museum is $12 per person. Lunch at Shady Maple is $10.75 for seniors. Reservation deadline is August 31. A Lifesize Candy Land Game Calvary Church will again provide a lifesize Candy Land Game in the Grove at Community Day, Saturday, September 18. Kids will love walking through the Lollipop Woods, past the Peppermint Forest and Lord Licorice to the Candy Land Castle. Our rendition of the game will include a few additions like Mike-n-Ike Mountain, Smarties Pass, and the Tootsie Roll Tunnel. Set this date aside and come and help make Community Day a great success! The Allentown Rescue Mission ministers to hundreds of needy men from across the Lehigh Valley whose needs range from temporary challenges due to job loss, broken homes, or transportation issues all the way to long-range struggles with substance abuse and homelessness. (http://www.allentownrescuemission.org/) Once a month folks from Calvary Church lead in an evening Bible study and worship service and visit with the men currently in need at the Mission. Mike Zettlemoyer leads this gathering. Vans leave from Calvary at 6:30 pm for a 7:00 pm service.
If you are one of the almost 25% of adult women who were victims of some form of sexual abuse in your youth, there is hope and healing for you...a shelter from the storm. Beginning September 22, Calvary Church will be providing a biblically sound, confidential support group for ladies who have been impacted by abuse as children. Using Lifeway Press materials, "Shelter from the Storm" will be a time of reflection, Bible study, prayer, and encouragement for 12 Wednesday nights this Fall. An experienced woman teacher will lead the group under the auspices of our Women's Ministries. For further information, contact Darlene at the church office (610-282-3161).
